Adventures in Ireland

My first adventure this summer is to Ireland. My grandfather was born there and I have a lot of cousins and other family members who still live there. My family is from Tullamore in County Offaly. Tullamore has a lot of farm lands and water logged areas called bogs. I stayed with my cousins. They have four dogs, seven cats, and a donkey as pets. There is a lot of space for animals to roam around. Stanley and I traveled to some counties that surround County Offaly, such as Kildare. Ireland's nickname is the Emerald Isle because it is so GREEN!

My favorite part of the trip was eating a traditional Irish breakfast every morning. A traditional Irish breakfast consists of a fried egg, black pudding( a type of sausage), white pudding (another type of sausage), bacon, sausage links, some potatoes, and brown bread. This is also known as a farmers breakfast. It is chilly in Ireland most of the time, so farmers would eat a big breakfast early in the morning to fill their stomachs a day of work. The meal also kept them warm. It was my favorite part of the trip because it tasted delicious and I enjoy eating authentic foods in the places I visit.
