Amplify Science
Amplify Science is a new science program for New York City Elementary School. This program takes a hands-on, inquiry approach to learning science. Each unit poses a real world problem for the students to investigate. Students will work collaboratively as they investigate and discover science phenomenon.
Unit 1: Sunlight and Weather
We will be observing the changes in the weather by using our senses. We will discuss difffernt types of weather and how to prepare for different types of weather. We will also investigate the relationship between sunlight and temperature.

We have been studying forces, pushes, and pulls.
We will observe things that move and how they will move.
We will discuss speed, direction, and distance.
We will create things that will move, like cars and a pinball machine.

Unit 3: The Needs of Plants and Animals
We have been working on what plants and animals need to live and grow.
We will observe plants with and without water.
We will observe how plants change and grow over time.
